In our planning, going forward, we must consider the consequences of climate change, e.g., we must avoid building on permafrost and in areas at risk of storm surges. We will upgrade our sewer system to enable it to handle larger stormwater volumes in the future, and we will upgrade ditches to handle meltwater and surface water. |

Mapping the risk of flooding and erosion makes up a key foundation for dealing with climate change in our future planning. Furthermore, we will contribute to supporting research and knowledge sharing internationally, e.g., through the new Icefjord Centre. |
